J. Thomas Millington, Jr., M.D.
Dr. J. Thomas Millington, Jr. is a board-certified physician providing specialized care at his practice in Thousand Oaks, California. Dr. Millington has been in practice since 1974, and has provided specialized care in wound treatment and hyperbaric medicine since 1983. With his extensive knowledge of hyperbaric and diving medicine, Dr. Millington teaches courses at Santa Barbara City College, College of Oceaneering and Engineering and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Underwater Search and Rescue Team. Dr. Millington also holds hospital appointments at Valley Presbyterian Hospital and Los Robles Regional Medical Center, where he previously served as the Chief of Family Practice, Secretary-Treasurer and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Dr. Millington received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia in 1969, and completed his residency training in family practice medicine at Ventura County General Hospital. Dr. Millington also completed specialty training in hyperbaric and diving medicine through the National Oceanographic and Atmosphere Administration. After completing his medical training, Dr. Millington served the US Army at the Madigan Army Medical Center, where he practiced in the Department of Family Practice.
In addition to his practice experience, Dr. Millington is also an active participant in the medical community. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the California Medical Association, Association for the Advancement of Wound Care and the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society. He is also a founding member and the vice president of the Channel Islands Council of Divers. He has recently been appointed as the DMO (Dive Medical Officer) for the Port of Long Beach Dive Team and Homeland Security Divers. Dr. Millington’s work has appeared in several publications, abstracts and presentations throughout his career.
